Colored Contact Lenses

Colored Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses. Since the lens sits right on your cornea, you don't need to worry about an eyeglass frame or dirty lenses obstructing your view. They also offer a more natural appearance. Contacts also allow you to change your appearance. If you want to change the color of your eyes, you can be fitted for colored contact lenses at Eye Doctors of Arizona. When it comes to colored contact lenses, there are a few options available.

Colored Contact Lenses

Prescription and Non-Prescription

If you require correction to see clearly, you can get colored contacts with your prescription. If you don't need correction, your optometrist can order a plano pair of colored contacts. These lenses have no prescription, but they can still change the color of your eyes.

Colored Contact Tints

Color contact lenses come in three tints. The one that you chose would depend on your eyes.

  • Visibility tint: Visibility tint lenses come in a light blue or green tint. The tint is so light that they won't change the color of your eyes. The reason for the tint is to make them more visible, making it easier to insert and remove the lenses. The tint is also helpful if you drop a lens.
  • Enhancement tint: This tint is a bit darker than the visibility tint. These lenses are designed to enhance the color of your eyes. For example, if you have blue eyes, a blue visibility tinted lens will make them appear bluer. Because these lenses are so bright, they are not designed for people with dark eyes. They will only make your light eyes more vibrant.
  • Opaque tint: Opaque tint lenses: These lenses have a non-transparent tint, and they can change your eye color completely. They will also work if you have dark eyes. Opaque tint lenses come in a variety of colors including blue, green, brown, hazel, violet, amethyst, and gray. With all of the color options available, you can have different colored eyes every day of the week.

Costume Colored Lenses

Costume colored lenses are opaque, which means that you can wear them whether you have dark eyes or light eyes. These lenses are very dramatic and come in a variety of patterns. For years, these lenses were used as a special effect in the movies, and today, they are available for novelty use. There are costume lenses today that can give you vampire eyes, a gothic look, and an alien look.

Testimonials

Reviews From Our Satisfied Patients

I recommend Eye Doctors of Arizona. The entire staff is always happy, pleasant, and helpful. Dr. Heller is wonderful... always thorough, and accurate. An excellent doctor. I was fortunate to meet his second son, Ben, who will be joining the practice soon. Now with their two offices, it is even more convenient to book appointments.
