Dr. Matthew A. Heller DOOphthalmologist
Dr. Matthew Heller received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He attended medical school at Midwestern University - Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona and completed his internship at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Heller completed his residency in ophthalmology at Nova Southeastern University/Beraja Medical Institute/Larkin Hospital in Miami, Florida. During his residency, he received the Patrick Murray Academic Achievement Award from the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 2015. Dr. Matthew Heller is a board certified ophthalmologist who treats all kinds of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eyes.

Dr. Benjamin L. HellerDOOphthalmologist
Dr. Ben is a 2nd generation board certified Ophthalmologist who was born and raised here in Phoenix, Arizona. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology at Arizona State University. He furthered his education with a medical degree at Touro University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, Nevada. Dr. Ben completed Ophthalmology residency at Nova Southeastern University in conjunction with Larkin Community Hospital.
Dr. Ben specializes in high volume cataract, MIGS, refractive cataract, pterygium and strabismus surgery. His true passions professionally are surgical procedures and research. He is active in research and is currently enrolling patients in several trials ranging from glaucoma surgical devices to dry eye trials.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Dr. Gregory L. CohenMDOphthalmologist
Dr. Cohen completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Stanford University and received his medical doctorate from New York Medical College. He went on to complete his internship at Tucson Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson where he served as chief resident. He was also awarded the Arizona Ophthalmological Society Resident Research Award twice during his time at the University of Arizona.
After finishing residency, Dr. Cohen spent the next twenty years working as a comprehensive cataract surgeon in Reno, Nevada, and raising his three beautiful daughters. He recently decided to move back to a warmer climate once his children moved out and his wife and he became 'empty nesters'.
Dr. Cohen has performed over 8,000 cataract surgeries utilizing modern small incision techniques.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Outside of work he enjoys time spent with his family, dogs, golf and playing music.
Dr. Cohen is also fluent in conversational Spanish!

Dr. Christopher J. Johnson ODOptometrist
Dr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University - Arizona College of Optometry.
During his training, Dr. Johnson earned a prestigious designation of membership in the BSK International Optometric Honor Society. He served as President of the Sports Vision Club at Midwestern University. During his clinical externships throughout much of the Southwestern United States Dr. Johnson gained experience and clinical expertise in a wide variety of eye conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, binocular vision disorders, and pediatric eye care. He is instrumental in pre and post-operative care for many surgeries performed in our practice including Lasik and cataract surgery. Dr. Johnson is an expert in fitting glasses and contact lenses, including hard to fit multifocal and scleral contact lenses. Dr. Johnson is committed to excellence in eye care here in the valley.

Houman BehshadODOptometrist
Dr. Behshad received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Arizona State University. He attended graduate school at Midwestern University - Arizona College of Optometry where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree.
During his clinical rotations, Dr. Behshad received training in treatment and management of various ocular diseases including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, ocular infections, dry eye and ocular trauma. During his clinical training, Dr. Behshad also received training in binocular vision disorders, pediatric eye exams, and pre and post-operative care of ocular surgeries.
Dr. Behshad enjoys fitting soft and specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses.
Outside of work, Dr. Behshad loves playing sports and playing musical instruments.

Dr. Warren H. Heller MD,Ophthalmologist (Retired)
Dr. Warren H. Heller is the founding Ophthalmologist of Eye Doctors of Arizona. After an illustrious career of serving the greater Phoenix area for over 45 years, Dr. Heller is now retired. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
About Dr. Heller: Dr Warren is an Army Veteran and served 8 years in the United States Army before he attended Washington University for his residency in Ophthalmology. Following completion of his residency in 1975, he headed west to Phoenix to start his practice. For the entire duration of his career he practiced in his office located on 7th Ave and Buckeye. His sons Benjamin and Matthew joined him in practice and continue to carry on their father's legacy of eye care in here in Phoenix.
Despite retirement, Dr. Heller enjoys reading journals to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care and regularly attends seminars and courses. Dr. Heller's dedication to excellence in eye care laid the foundation for his two sons, Matthew and Benjamin to continue to provide the most modern and progressive vision care available.
